my birthday and the ballet.

image via tumblr.

I'm 19.

What a thrill.
My birthday was the most spectacular day. I went to the Nutcracker Ballet and need I say more? I can't describe the unreal performance last night. The Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier made me cry and I about screamed for joy when they finished. I had nothing but chills the whole performance. Oh, I wish I could describe the whole evening, but I'm afraid I don't have the words. I could say it was magical, but it was much more than that. My only regret or hope was that Tchaikovsky had composed more music for the Nutcracker suite. I didn't want to leave. I didn't want it to end.

Strictly sensational.
I have a video and pictures of my birthday. once I download those, I'll post more in detail.

Thank you to all who were so kind to wish me a happy birthday. It was, indeed, a happy one, {and so much more}.

 Kathryn.

I know I started writing this post with a point in mind, but somewhere it escaped...

Good afternoon to you lovely, lovely readers. So an update on this Christmas sea- wait, hold the phone, who on Earth are you? And why are posting on this blog? Oh, it's okay, it's just me, Kathryn. {don't act surprised, I used to post all the time, once upon a time. and you knew I wouldn't leave you, so freak, tell me to cork it so I can get on with this post}. I'm like a stranger on this blog. It's been THAT long. And it is THAT rude.

Okay, enough of that.
5.

number of days till Christmas.

{everyone freak out!}

side note: does me using {} instead of () bother you?

Are you ready?

Ready or not the Big, Jolly, Plump, highly frightening {truly, I was scared to death to see Santa,} Man is comin' to town in t-minus five days. {I don't know what t-minus actually means, it just sounds cool}. Would someone please tell me to stop the {} every other sentence? It's starting to get on my nerve.

I'm not getting anywhere with this post. I don't even remember my point. Whate'er.

Here's a pinch of class for this very classless post.

glamorous. strictly glamorous. would you say that's a 22-23 inch waist? absolutely exquisite.

dear blogger, please go back to "old school" blogging.

let's just say...

I miss the simplicity in bloggers old templates. I want my dear friend "minima" back. My blog design is not happening. Someone help.

Maybe I'll just leave blogger and go to tumblr.com. I spend more time there anyway.

12.08.2011

so, hi.

it's been a week since December 1st and I've only posted twice this month. Both were on December 1st. I'm a terrible blogger. But whate'er. I'm back, and holy Bieber there is a lot to talk about.

First, a huge, gigantic, fat, loving THANK YOU to my readers. It is the 8th of December, only two posts this month, but I am getting consistent views e'ry single day. I've already exceeded 500 views and for a small blog with little reputation, that's a lot. So here's a special thank you, in French. {because some of my readers are from FRANCE! whoopdee-doo!}

xx {those are kisses, because the French kiss, like a lot, and very well. Don't ask me how I know that}. Merci beaucoup, mes amis. xx {oui, more kissing}.

And I feel it only fair to tell you that I am wearing matching socks. everyone clap. I am notorious for my mismatching socks. Anyway...

Today is Thursday. In my world, Thursday mornings become morning movie marathons. {that's a a lot of m words}. maybe not a marathon but there is always a movie and it's in the morning. It's just me and perfectly quiet. No one else is around in the mornings on Thursday. And since most in my home don't completely enjoy my taste in the motion picture industry, the only time when I can watch dear Audrey Hepburn or the dreamy Fred Astaire would be mornings like today.

Julie Andrews as Cinderella in Rodger and Hammersteins film, Cinderella.

Cinderella, the Rodger and Hammersteins version, starring Julie Andrews, filmed live in 1957 was this mornings film. 1957? Indeed, 1957. I am a vintage hopeless romantic. Oh, Julie Andrews, could there be anyone more graceful and lovely?

So if you're ever in the neighborhood one Thursday morning, do stop by. You don't even have to get dressed. I always wear my pajamas, some comfy socks, {matching today}, and have a warm cup if tea. Your day will be lovely and you won't help but feel happy all day.

Have "a lovely night".

xx {again with the kissing?}

I've been terribly ill. More ill than I have been in a long time. Physically, emotionally and whatever else there is, most call it spiritual. How many emotions and feelings can one soul experience in what seems to be a wink of an eye? I am one who hardly ever cries, (or admits to). I admit at this moment I have a tear or two in my eye and feel as if my head is going to fall off and there's a throbbing in my throat. And blast it all, my tummy hurts. It always hurts but today it is unusually painful. I don't mean to complain or to whine, truly, I don't. Because of this, people rarely know how I really feel or what is happening in my life. I keep things awfully quiet. even secret. And I'm afraid I have kept so many things locked away that they are beginning to eat me inside. There are extremely traumatic, even tragic things that have happened in my life but I never asked for help. I never told anyone. I was afraid to. I thought if I kept it hidden it would just go away. Instead, it swells up inside and pretty soon I explode out of no where, sometimes in a quiet way like distancing myself from everyone. It's almost as if I've left reality itself. I'm sure anyone close to me has seen me in deep-thought a many.

Now after reading this, I'm sure many find me quite the mental case. You're probably thinking, She should get a life. Wow, that's quite the pity-party. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Go see a therapist.

Let me tell you something: No, actually, let me ask you something:

Have you ever been betrayed? No? then stop judging and try to understand. If the answer is yes, then you know how it feels. Everything you just read made you feel peace to know that someone is feeling the same thing. To the extent of betrayal I won't ask. I won't explain my story either.

I'm sorry for the change in the blog. I'm experimenting with different looks. In a month or so I would love to start sponsoring. My blog needs to be tip-top before then. Please be patient, I'm sure when I'm done you'll be screaming with envy. {well that was a rude comment, Kathryn, what the heck}. Oh, I'm just messing with you. In the meantime, do stop by and read when you can and enjoy this blog design roller-coaster. Perhaps I'll even throw in some guest posts this month? Oh, what was that? Did someone say guest blogging? Yes, indeed. My gift to you. Any takers? Leave a comment or contact me if you would like to host a post {that rhymes} on fetch me a darling summer.

I can't wait to highlight my readers. Oh, this will be grand, I can tell already.

No one can argue now with  Christmas activists like myself. The Christmas Season is here, my dear ladies and gentlemen. So go on, get some hot chocolate and a peppermint candy cane, crank up the heater, blast the holiday tunes, deck the halls with boughs of holly, get out that Christmas list, and if your tree's not up yet, then hop to it now. My Christmas tree is up and the tree in Rockefeller Center is officially lit. and I'm off to watch Holiday Inn, just me. I love December.
