Even with the loss of nerves, I was given numbing gel, 6 to 7 numbing needles and a tetanus shot with a Princess Ariel band-aid. The nurse and doctor were very kind and kept me calm, {being that these were my first stitches in my life}. Eighteen stitches, baby. And I still don't feel any pain. {I've destroyed some nerves.} Because the stitches are in a sensitive spot, I can't put pressure on it so I was given crutches.
I have feeling in my toes now. And I'm trying to walk on my foot without crutches today. It sounds awful, I know. And it really hasn't been all that fun.
There have been some ups that came with this, though:
number one: If you ever want firm and sexy shoulder and back muscles, I suggest a week on crutches. It's funny, right now my left butt cheek is firmer than my right. I think I'll be hopping on my right leg when it's healed to even things out a bit. I'm looking good.
number two: The special treatment from the chaps. Oh, mama! It's almost made this accident worth it. I get, "Let me hold the door open for you, " and "I'll help you up these stairs," and "Do you need help getting to your car, " and "Would you like me to kiss your foot better?" Okay, they didn't say that one. I even had a guy at a dance party slow dance with me while I was sitting down. Isn't that cute? And the best part is they've all been attractive men. Oh, baby! Thank you, guys for making me feel like a queen.
number three: I have a new appreciation for the smallest yet simple things in life. Going up and down the stairs, putting on clothes, taking a shower, getting up. Don't forget how blessed we are. Things change so fast.
Thank you to everyone who have been so kind to me this past week. I'm going to be fine.
XOXOXOXOXOXO

Ah! Your poor foot incident sounds rough! But yes, milk it with the guys for all it's worth..."Ooo - my foot...it hurts...I wish I had a date tonight.." You know - stuff like that. I love the pics on your blog too. How's life as a grad??
Oh Kathryn, Did you need me to kiss your foot better? ;-) But, no offense, I probably would've said no... And the dance sitting down would be awesome!
