Summer 2011. What's so magical about the 2011th summer to have a blog completely dedicated to it?
I don't know.
You see, I was walking downtown with my little sister Sue, {that's not her full name but for privacy purposes she's just Sue} anyway...
After a delightful lunch and window shopping with Sue we headed to the library when a thought came to me while reading an Audrey Hepburn biography. It said something that hit me:
the author, Audrey's son said something to the idea that your lungs have a life span of 60 years, your brain has a life span of 150 years, but your memories last forever.
These are the life spans of those that keep them healthy and alive. It made me wonder, Are my memories a dying sort? I need to not only record the lovely things that seem to flutter endlessly into my life but I need to share them, too. I benefit from learning from the lives of others and I am in gratitude for the courage they have of sharing a bit of them with us. I should do the same.
I decided that I was going to make this one great summer, just because.
I do realize summer does not officially start until June 20th or 21st, however I have always felt summer to be June 1st to August 31st.
This is also my first public blog. I'm still learning this whole blogging thing so please be patient with me. I'll blog weekly, many times so stop by when you can.

Miss Kathryn, I can't wait to read your thoughts...here on the blog. Great start. I ♥♥♥ Julie Andrews too! I knew you were one of those bosom friends...like Sis Smithson. We could create a club.
Happy Summer, sweetie!
