panties, breakfast and perverts.

This was a most dramatic morning. I go running everyday, and sometimes I just get too excited and forget certain essential routines. The consequence of this action is not pleasant, (see below). This post is written in the same narrative as this post. Enjoy.

It's 8:00am. I'm pumped. The weather's perfect and I'm ready to push myself. And I am really sporting my running shorts. I sip my lemon water and then off I go. Up this road, down that one, up the "hill of insanity" and then jog back down again. I am feeling good.

And then...

I feel it. I'm going to throw up! Ooh, my tummy hurts so bad. My home is near, I could skip the rest of my route? No, I can't stop, just keep going. It will go away. You can make it up this road, oh! No, hold on a sec! Pardon me, mister construction worker, sir, ah hem, my head is up here, not on my chest, thank you very much. Stop being nasty or don't look!

Oh my gosh, I don't feel good at all. Why am I so sick? Oh...I didn't have breakfast. Hmm, running on an empty stomach? Smart? No. Well, I'm halfway through my route, I can't stop now... Ahh! Turn around! you're gonna puke. Holy, holy, I bet I'm a sight. Oh hey, there goes that one cute kid in my ward. Dang, he looks so attractive in that suit. Oh, almost home! I can see it.

WHAT? Who's in the bathroom? I need the toilet... NOW!

And the moral of the story...

When wearing tight running shorts, make sure to wear a thong. It's not very attractive when the whole world can see your pantie lining. (Oh, and eat a healthy breakfast before exercise).

this is who I am

My name is Kathryn...

I am cynical
doubtful
insecure
stubborn
prideful
and confused.

On the up side...

I am a dreamer
accepting
forgiving
a free spirit
brave
and hopeful.

This is who I am. Perfectly imperfect. Perfectly flawed. Perfectly me.

remedy for a happy day.

Lately, I've been down. No, the word is depressed. My mind and heart have felt completely numb and I've lost myself. I've wanted so badly to be happy but could not find it anywhere. This week, I woke up and slowly the "little things" presented themselves in lovely ways. Today, as in Thursday the 15th day of September in the 2011th year, I can say...

I'm happy.

This was my remedy for happiness:

pray. everyday, all day, everywhere, anytime.
breath. go outside every morning and breath. it's lovely.
time alone. don't even answer your phone.
share. when something good happens, tell someone about it.
red lipstick. although, some of my readers are men, i suggest this strongly to my female readers.
long chats and late nights. thankfully, i have the best friends and they patiently listened to my worries and joys. Savannah, I love you.
be with children. nothing does more for the soul than the tenderness of a child.
smell the flowers. it's how angels smell.
name a star. we named one Henry.
laugh. laugh so hard you almost pee your pants.
watch a love a story, (first thing in the morning). it made my day so happy.
serve. whatever it is, just serve.
talk with an angel. mine happened to be sweet Ashley from special needs mutual.
dance. dance in your bedroom, in the kitchen, down the street, in the store. just dance.
music. listen to your favorite song(s) and sing it at the top of your lungs.
do something you've never done before. it's amazing.
give prayer of thanks. thank God for everything you can think of. all the small things. He loves those.
forgive. even when it's not deserved.
colored tights. enough said.
make new friends. people are so kind and lovely.
wake up with a smile. life is good.

What a beautiful day it is to be alive.

first impression.

There have been only a few times in my life when I've been this nervous. Throwing up twice already and it's only 9 o' clock in the morning - and still feeling sick. Today is my interview. I feel grown up, as long as I don't pee my pants. I don't know how you deal with anxiety or if it's anything like mine. I hope not. Aside from puking my brains out, my body gets numb, I go into a daze, my face turns green and then into a sickly pale color, I can't eat anything, and occasionally I'll even pass out. There is no way I'm walking in with these conditions.

'Hello, I'm Kathryn, my face isn't usually this green. No, I'm not shaking because I have an old person's disease. Oh, excuse me for a moment while I go hurl. I think I'm seeing stars?'

First impression nightmare.

It's moments like this when I think...what would Audrey do?
